Care planning for visitors and international students
Organize records, appointment questions, and payment information while away from home.

Start with the type of visit you need
If you are visiting Texas or studying away from home, call or text Walk-In Wellness to discuss appointment availability and the nature of your concern. A visit is not confirmed until scheduling is arranged. Time-sensitive illness may require a different facility.
Bring a concise health summary
Useful information includes relevant diagnoses, allergies, recent results, prior procedures, and a current list of what you take. Records in another language may need clarification or translation. Ask the office in advance about language assistance; do not assume a specific language or interpreter is available.
Check your coverage and costs
Ask your insurer or travel-plan administrator about local care, network rules, claims, and exclusions. Separately confirm fees and payment arrangements with the office. A travel or student policy should not be assumed to cover every visit.
Plan beyond the first appointment
Ask how records can be shared securely and how follow-up would work after you travel, including whether a clinician near your home should take over ongoing care. Do not send passports, medical records, or financial information by ordinary email.
Emergency symptoms?
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not wait for a routine appointment, phone call back or email reply.
